Vagner & Katie Oliveira

Vagner and Katie have been serving together in missions since they were married in 2014, both in Brazil and Japan. They worked with a church planting organization, evangelized and discipled nationals, held small groups, worked in children’s ministry and taught English.  Prior to this, Katie served with the mission’s health team for four years. In the fall of 2017, they attended a Discipleship Training School with Youth With a Mission. In March of 2018, they joined the YWAM base in Recife, Brazil as staff, attending a Children at Risk training school and working with the various ministries reaching out to street children, single mothers, and community development.

They recently moved to Wylie, Texas to continue serving with YWAM. The YWAM Wylie missionary team is reaching the many immigrants and refugees in the region with the love of Jesus by teaching English, reaching exploited women in the red light district, holding after school programs, opening a Pregnancy Resource Center and more. Katie is one of the directors at the Pregnancy Resource Center. Vagner transitioned out of YWAM and is going to seminary to get a Masters in Counseling in order to be further equipped to minister. He also accepted the position of Children's Pastor at their local church. Their desire is to empower those in need to discover and develop their true identity in Christ through healing and restoration.
