Chip & Chari Kingsbury

Chip serves on the faculty of Daystar University where he directs the Collaboration for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. CETL is the University’s faculty development program. He also directs CHEFDN, the Christian Higher Education Faculty Development Network. This is an Africa-wide body supporting the professional development of faculty from Christian institutions of higher learning. Chari’s ministry focuses on counseling and the training of lay-counselors. She also helps churches establish counseling programs. She recently completed an MA in Counseling Psychology at Daystar.
Chip and Chari operate the Ukarimu House. Ukarimu is the Swahili word for “hospitality.” This is the home and ministry center opposite the campus. The purpose of Ukarimu House is to be a friendly and hospitable student community for Daystar University. It is a place of Christian nurture and for supportive mentoring and counseling. It is used to facilitate the integration of faith and learning through reflective praxis. It is a place of joy, excitement, and fellowship and to experience and be part of a godly family.
By mentoring, guiding, befriending, and to a certain extent, parenting these young adults, Chip and Chari have very significant impact on these future leaders and parents of Africa.
Chip and Chari also have a missionary project you can support. If you would like to give to the "Kingsbury - Ukarimu Ministries Grant"; click Here.
